I’ve been away at church camp this week, and I guess it went pretty well. Maybe I was too busy helping to run it, or maybe I’m not so young anymore — the happenings were often overwhelming, yet at the end of it all I found my experience somewhat underwhelming. FM was engaging and insightful as always, and it was great seeing some of the younger ones learn and share, so maybe I just don’t get the same kick out of the fun and games. Oh dear God I’m becoming a boring old man.
The tee got some nice compliments when we were out running about town, and it’s another testament to God’s favour. I certainly don’t think everything I touch turns to gold but sometimes it’s easy to pretend it does, and He’s the only way I want to resolve my internal struggle with giftedness and elitism and the weight of my own expectations, so if I ever get the slightest bit arrogant please hit me.
I kinda enjoyed being away from the Internet for a couple of days, too, but now I’ve got bugs to fix and more bugs to create.
