Heroes, super or otherwise

So on Cher’s suggestion we trooped off to the deep dark recesses of Suntec and caught The Spirit. I think I was there for two things — Frank Miller and Samuel L Jackson. It turns out Samuel L Jackson was acting all crazy, and Frank Miller was totally batshit loco. Don’t go in there expecting Sin City. If you haven’t watched Sin City, rent it and forget about The Spirit. If you have watched Sin City, maybe you could watch, like, Bolt, in 3D, instead of this tedious, campy piece of crap. It got a little better when I decided to just have a laugh and take it on the same level as Snakes on a Plane, but meh.

Me and Russ watched Cicakman. It was exactly the lame low-budget comedy superhero movie I expected. I had fun.

Pride and Glory’s pretty decent if you like dreary cop family dramas about honour and loyalty and duty and pride and glory. It was probably a bit touching too but we were busy eating ROAST DUCK PIZZA yes we brought a whole pizza box in. At Timbre the bartender requested our IDs and asked another guy if ‘88 was ok. Duuuuude.

loop

Don’t know what to do with these:

I think I quite like the sound of synth trumpets.

P.S. cbf to fix the !#%@^# gap in mp3s
P.P.S. play them all together for lulz

Exporting your library from Visual Bookshelf in Facebook (or LivingSocial: Books) to Readernaut

  1. Link your Visual Bookshelf Facebook account to an external LivingSocial: Books account (relevant Visual Bookshelf FAQ entry)
  2. From your LivingSocial.com account, choose Manage, and look for the Export to CSV link near the bottom of the page. (VB FAQ)
  3. Replace all instances of ^.+?","([\dX]{10}).+$ with \1 using TextWrangler/other text editor with grep(-like) find and replace
  4. Copy resulting list of ISBNs into Readernaut
  5. Feel good about having a Readernaut account in the first place

N.B. I have no 13-digit ISBNs in my reading list so it’s really not my problem.

gifts

Here’s the thing: I don’t do gifts. The best you could do is treat me a little nicer next year — if you remember this every Christmas we’ll be best friends and a bit richer besides.

P.S. I could settle for second-best, which would involve either chucks or a MIDI keyboard (semi-weighted with pitch(spring-loaded)/mod wheels + aftertouch + MOAR SLIDERS N KNOBS!!).

Tumblr theme

I made some changes to the default “Minimalist” Tumblr theme and added support for alternate colours in conversations. I figure it might be useful for someone else on the Internets.
